Results and Responsibilities—not excuses! |
Rules we agree on:1. Be in your assigned seat when the tardy bell rings. You are expected to be in your seat and ready to work when the tardy bell rings. Sharpen pencils and make all locker and restroom stops before you come to class. If you are tardy, you will automatically be assigned lunch detention. Students must fill out a detention form before taking a seat. 2. Bring all books, supplies, and assignments to class. You are expected to bring all supplies and materials to class and to be in your seat and ready to work when the bell rings. Being prepared means having all supplies, work, and books ready to go. You will NOT be allowed to go back to your locker for notebook paper, pens, or books. 3. Follow directions and teacher requests the first time they are given.Be respectful and polite. A positive attitude is always a plus! 4. Stay seated and respect class quiet times (when I’m talking, you’re not).Talking while someone else is speaking is inconsiderate and distracts others from learning. If we listen carefully everyone is able to hear instructions and important information and everyone gets the respect they deserve. 5. No personal grooming during class time. All makeup application, hair grooming, etc. should be done between classes. This provides for the least amount of classroom distractions.
You should respect your teacher, other students, and the classroom rules.
Rewards for being good:1. Freshmen “Fish” freebiesFish freebies are given out for good deeds and behavior at the teacher’s discretion. These tickets are good for classroom privileges such as bathroom breaks, Smart Board time, and preferential seating. 2. Additional passing period timeStudents will be released for restroom breaks and water breaks at the bell between blocks IF behavior is good during class, during the break, and students get back to work quickly and quietly. 3. Pictures and work posted on bulletin boardPictures of students working hard will be posted on the classroom bulletin board in the back, and student work will be selected for recognition. 4. Recognition on web site (with permission)Friends, family, and the community will hear about your good work and good deeds on our class website! 5. Positive phone call to parentsI’d love to brag about you to your parent or guardian by phone! 6. Positive notes to you and your parentsKudos cards, Apache Pride notes, and other notes are given out for good behavior and good work. Be on the lookout at home! 7. Six weeks awards ceremonies (grades and behavior)Awards and recognition are given for grades each six weeks as well as for conduct. For example, Top Poppers are students with perfect conduct grades. 8. Drink water in classYou may drink water in class at any time. No glass containers or flavored waters are allowed. 9. The joy of learning! If everyone is respecting our rules and others around them, we can enjoy working together!
